Would you get pissed off by this too?

Picture it's around 3am & your sound asleep. Loud knocking at your door wakes you up. You quickly grab a bathrobe & head for the main door to your apartment and ask who it is. It's the fire department. You open the door and they say you called them saying "We got a call from ( my address ) saying your drunk & stoned and ready to slice your wrist". Now you mouth drops open and you explain you made no such call. They insist on coming in your apartment to check if every thing is ok. Ha, you don't want your unexpected visitors in your home. All of a sudden one more fireman comes on the scene with poking his head around a hall corner. He says "There's another building". They all leave without even apologizing

Yes, I would

I'm sorry, but at first, I had to laugh. The fire department certainly was being rude, but their logic was even stranger. I would have been furious on three counts in that incident:

1. The fact that they thought I called to tell them that I was stoned, drunk, and ready to hurt myself. I suppose that a call like that could theoretically be placed, but I don't just somehow can't imagine anyone willing to risk jail time over drug abuse and having to be put away for that. :drool

2. The fact that they wanted to come in and investigate. I'm sure that after the firemen looked into your eyes, and you weren't doing drugs, they would have been happy. The fact that they wanted to throughly investigate your apartment building is a little odd. :disbelief

3. The fact that they didn't apologize. I know that firemen are in a hurry, and I do know that they are busy people who act as heroes everyday for the general populaton. But that dosen't mean that they couldn't have apologized for the incident, which takes about less than a minute. If someone said that I was a pyschotic, drunken, stoner, I would have been pretty mad. :realmad

All in all, I'm sorry that you had to be woken up like that at 3:00 in the morning. I hope that your not like me, and you would be able to fall back asleep. You have every right to be mad like that. Still, on the bright side, this will be a funny story to tell people in a few weeks. :lol

What i find a bit worrying is that they didnt get the right apartment in the first place! Is that person who made the real call now a heap on the floor!:nut

I love the out look you guys have on this. The first thing I did this morning was grab a mini box of cereal and Mountain Dew & then head to the fire station eating breakfast. The people at the station didn't really care what I had to say but they did give me a city number to complain to. Left a message and the head of the city's fire departments for this contacted me. I've never heard any one who works for the state, city, what ever apologize that much :hurray: .

How pissed I would be would depend on what's been going on recently an how I've been feeling, but 3:00 in the morning is bloody ridiculous. :realmad Glad you've been able to sleep since then.
