This is one of my favorite episodes! I always try to watch it before the New Year holidays) Al is just inimitable, as always, and my favorite moment is when Sam and Al wish each other Merry Christmas at the end. Another moment of their sincere friendship)
It's always been a little scary how in this episode Al shows Blake that he's going to commit suicide, and in real life, Charles Rocket died that way... It's a pity(((

I was not aware that Charles Rocket took his own life. I read about it online after reading the above and it was just ghastly. I cannot imagine what would possess someone to end things the way he apparently did. RIP...

I totally agree with you! Suicide is always very terrible... I have the same thoughts about Kurt Cobain. It's been 30 years since he committed suicide, and for us, Nirvana fans, it's still an irreparable loss.

I remember when Freddie Prinze shot himself on January 28th 1977. He was only 22 years old and everyone was shocked. He went from being poor and unknown to a huge star with his own hit show,"Chico and the Man" literally overnight. It didn't seem real. He was such a funny and likeable guy,and he and Jack Albertson had terrific chemistry on screen and became good friends in real life. In fact Jack was one of Freddie pallbearers and gave a tearful eulogy at his funeral. Sadly James Komack tried to keep the show going without Freddie and replaced his Chico character with young Gabriel Melgar who hides inside Louies trunk when Ed and Louie went fishing in Mexico. The show never recovered, because Freddie and the chemistry between he and Jack made the show. There's a scene in "Raul runs away" where the writers finally gave closure to Freddie's passing by addressing it. The tears Scatman Crothers and Jack Albertson were fighting back were real.
Suicide sucks. Freddie had gotten into drugs and his wife had told him she was leaving and taking his son for his safety.
Its a shame so few people today remember that show. It had a great theme song too by Jose Feliciano1000032567.jpg
