I recently re-watched this episode again as i like the disaster-epic settings the producers put Ben in. It did hit much better a second time around.

I enjoyed the interaction between Jenn and Ian, it came across very natural and funny especially how they got Magic to describe Martinez as "Leaper X" lol however those 2 would have great interactions and scenes together not just in this ep but the whole series. Ben was beginning to find his feet as the leaper, what seemed funny to me he would do alot of running in this episode which would be a theme for him in later episodes and seasons, he just ran and ran lol.

This was one of the first settings of explosions and action the producers would put Ben in, here in an earthquake then fir example S2EP01 opener military buildings exploding in Russia or most of the action filled storylines they would pursue in lata episodes.

It still suffered from most of the negatives it would be accused of throughout its run, some over-acting by Addison and the actress who played Naomi and also a theme we saw continually in QL in its two seasons , Ben helping to guide young children/ boy in changing their lives, got a little preachy for my liking.

Nonetheless a good storyline, some good interplay between jen magic and Ian and excellent setting.
