I have already purchased Seasons 1 and 3, (season 3 came with a discount on season 2 so thus the order of purchase) and now i have purchased season 2, but i had purchased it from Best Buy, and with the result of compete annoyance, it did not work fully on my DvD player(s). So i went back, exchanged it, came home and put in the dvd with a sigh of relief, but to my shock, it had the same technical problems.

Has anyone else had problems where the picture will freeze up (especially the last ten minutes), With the season 2 DvD?

>Just a note i did try it on different dvd players, so it wasn't that)

no, i haven't. i don't own it but i watched my best friend's season two all the way through and i never had problems. are you sure it is not your DVD player?

Re: Technical Difficulties

Its definetely not my DvD player, I tried it on 3 different players. And all my other DvD's work fine. Well i couldn't exchange it again, so i got store credit. Well when i do buy it i will get it from Amazon to be safe.

Hm... Could you be more specific? Do the discs play at all? Or do they play up to a certain point and freeze? I'm no technical expert or anything, but just curious.

specific problems

Well its complicated, sometimes it will not recognize a disc as being in the player, sometimes, it loads, starts playing, then will freeze up. Some episodes play throught, while others will quit in the last ten minutes of the episode. the first one i got, appeared to be somewhat scratched- which i thought was the problem, and when they opened another package at the store and that was scratched as well, but the second package i bought seemed fine. Well it wasn't fine, it had the same problems. So i think its the distributor (Bestbuy) Well thats what it is, so to anyone who is planning on buying the sets at bestbuy, you might want to consider another store.

Re: specific problems

Yeah, the distributor seems like the case. Maybe a batch of shipment got damaged at some point before the sets were placed on the shelves. These discs, being double-sided, are more susceptible to damage anyway. I haven't heard any complaints about single-sided discs having these problems. I still haven't purchased the Season 3 set (the music issues kind of killed my enthusiasm a little bit). I saw it at Virgin Megastore for $50.00 but thought that was a little overpriced compared to other places, so I didn't buy it.

Re: specific problems

yeah it must be the manufacturers fault, or maybe not, becasue my best friend's set has never given her or myself any problems? i do not know, i am confused.<img border=0 src="http://www.ezboard.com/images/emoticons/eyes.gif" />

I had some trouble with Disk 1, it would freeze during the promos at the beginning, then at the end of "Jimmy"

seems to have gotten better though recently

The fact that these discs are made in Mexico might have something to do with it. And please, I hope no one takes that the wrong way. It's just that I see it as a giant corporation trying to save money by producing their products in other countries.

I got the R2 season 2 DVD and all the discs froze or locked up (as well as having the poor sound quality I've read about elsewhere).

I exchanged the set and the replacement was exactly the same. I've now tried it on 4 players and only 1 will play these discs.

My season 1 set is fine, haven't got season 3 yet.

I haven't heard anything about R2 problems, but Universal is getting a lot of complaints with these double-sided dual-layer (DVD-18) discs they're putting TV shows onto.
