Quote:'Chuck' exclusive: I spy a Scott Bakula comeback!

Okay, this is Chucking awesome.
Scott Bakula has signed on to reprise his role as Chuck’s spy daddy, Steve, for multiple episodes.

Pops was last seen in the season 2 finale fleeing daughter Ellie’s wedding reception for parts unknown.

Chuck exec producer Josh Schwartz calls Bakula’s comeback arc — which would fall at the end of the spy comedy’s third season (premiering this Sunday!) — “the biggest thing we’ve ever done on the show.”

Bakula is currently starring in TNT’s Men of A Certain Age. With production wrapped on that show’s first season, Bakula was free to return to Chuck.

Chucking awesome, right?

Chucktastic! I was hoping Scott would be back this season. I'd love to think that Chuck's martial arts skills came from his dad via the implant.

I can't wait for this season to start.

I'll have to start watching the show now. I've been so busy I haven't had much time for TV but I'll definately make some to see Scott.

We watched the promo for the next episode (3 weeks? whyyyyyy?) and spotted Scott doing his absent-minded professor routine in the store shot. Yay Scott!

I don't think the promo they showed was just for the last episode. I believed it covered stuff from the next 6 episodes. If I recall correctly, the next episode, Chuck vs the Honeymooners, takes place on a train. IMDB has a guest cast listed for it (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1589535/fullcredits#cast). Scott is not there.

The first episode that he is credited with being in is episode 17 Chuck vs. The Living Dead (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1611285/). The following two episdes, episode 18 Chuck vs the Subway and episode 19 Chuck vs the Ring pt 2 are supposed to be airing the same night. NBC has said that Scott will be appearing on those two episodes.

I think I missed a few episodes of Chuck because this week's episode opening recap showed scenes I hadn't seen before. (Bet the DVR didn't record them or the kiddies watched without me...)

SCOTT BAKULA was in the last three episodes of this season. I don't want to spoil it for anyone, so I won't say anything more.

You won't find Scott in "Chuck vs The Tooth". He only appeared in the last 3 episodes of the season:

Chuck vs the Living Dead which aired May 17 and Chuck vs the Subway and Chuck vs the Ring pt 2 which both aired May 24 in a two hour time block.

All three episodes can be viewed on NBC's webpage but they're only available there until 9/19/10. The links to the episodes are:

Spoiler Alert! (highlight to read)
But they killed him off in the season finale! Boo!

I love spoiler tags...

No worries, Brian!

It's science fiction - no one ever really dies. Scott's character said something about The Ring's Intercept project also handling "biological regeneration." If Chuck's writers resurrect people on a regular basis with little/no explanation, point #2 could be valid.they can agree on a price and number of appearances, we may see Scott back on the show next season.

Was Chuck renewed for another season? What about Scott's new show with Ray Romano?

I'm reviving this thread because Scott had an uncredited voiceover cameo on Monday's episode, "Chuck Versus the First Fight." At least, I'm 99% certain it was Scott (Wikipedia says it's him, too). Toward the end, Chuck's sister Ellie found the '68 Mustang that their father used to drive her around in, and he left her a letter (Scott "read out" what she was reading).

In case anyone is interested, the episode also guest-starred Linda Hamilton as Chuck's mother (she's appeared in a couple of episodes already this season), and Timothy Dalton (who I assume will also be playing a major role for the remainder of this season).

Good catch, yes that was definitely Scott's voice. :)

I don't think I will ever be able to watch his
