Hey, all,

A friend on another forum just told me that Deborah Pratt is working on a new QL novel.

Does someone have a link to Deborah, to confirm if this is true?

This would be great if it is true. Deborah wrote some of the best and most seminal episodes of the series ("Color of Truth," "What Price Gloria," "Shock Theater," "Trilogy," etc.). I think her book would be very interesting to read, plus it could be a possible blueprint for a new movie. Her story would undoubtedly fit more in continuity than Trey's script seemed to.

I don't want to get anyone's hopes up prematurely, though, so please, if anyone has a legitimate source on this, please let us know!

Amazon.com might have some. I got most of mine off of E-Bay. But I also got some of them here http://www.intergalactictrading.com/cgi-bin/dpsmart/store/login.html?E+itc

I actually have 2 copies each of Quantum Leap The Novel, QL Too Close For Comfort, and QL Independence. If you are interested, I wouldn't mind sending them to you. Just let me know.

That would be great! How much do you want for them, hehe!

The novels are no longer in print. I believe only one of them is still carried on Amazon.com so the best bet to finding them would be to look at used book places. Ebay does occassionally have some of the novels available. I've gotten most of mine from alibris.com. Keep in mind, though, that prices of some of the novels, even though they are used, may end up being higher than the original retail price. It's going to depend on how many copies of the book were oringally printed, how popular a particular one is and what the condition of the offered book is. I've bought some for as little at $1.50 but have seen some go up as high as $20. Also, all of them may not necessarily be available.

You can also find information on all of the U.S. and U.K. exclusive novels and miscellaneous companion books here:

http://www.quantumleap-alsplace.com/novels/index.html

The two U.K. exclusive novels, The Beginning and The Ghost and the Gumshoe are actually novelizations of the Pilot Episode and "A Portrait for Troian" respectively, while Carny Knowledge in the U.K. is the same as Quantum Leap: The Novel in the U.S.

There was also a series of comic books that came out in the early 90s (which is actually where the pictures of those stockings on the main page come from ;)):

http://www.quantumleap-alsplace.com/comics/index.html

They only published 13 issues in total, although more had been planned. The reason why they never saw print was because Innovation went bankrupt; which is a real shame because the next four issues would have been really interesting stories: "Second Childhood" would have been a 3-issue mini-series in which Sam leaped into the same boy at three different points in his life: first as a baby in Part 1, then as an 8-year-old in Part 2, and finally as a teenager in Part 3 (which would have involved the Evil Leapers and a Sam Beckett cult). And after that was supposed to be the Quantum Leap Annual where Sam would have somehow leaped into Ziggy. I don't even know HOW they would have explained that one... all I know for certain was that the leap-in for that story had Sam leaping in to an ER patient just as the doctors defibrillated him and he flatlined! Weird stuff...

Acclaim Comics had also planned on publishing a new series of comics, but they too discontinued their comic division before they could be published. You'll find all of the information on that link as well. :)

You can read the story of the Baby comic storyline at the ql-archive. It's called Two Dweebs and a Little Monster and was written by Christina Mavroudis. It was accepted but sadly, the comic folded before it could be published. Fortunately, Mav shared it online with the QL community in the mid-90s. The guide is here http://www.ql-archive.org/alt.ql.creative/two-dweebs-script/two-dweebs-script.guide

You can access the entire script here: http://www.ql-archive.org/alt.ql.creative/two-dweebs-script/

She also has it in story form: http://www.ql-archive.org/alt.ql.creative/two-dweebs-story/

By shopping at various comic book shops and utilizing eBay I was able to get the entire comic book collection quite a few years ago. THey're pretty good.

You can also try used bookstores for the QL novels. My local used bookstore (which I haven't visited since a couple months before Katrina) had the entire series, including multiple copies of a few of them.

I wish they had made that one too. Seeing Sam/Scott in a diaper, bonnet, rattle, and pacifier, with giant "mommy" arms coming down into a crib to pick him up would be too hysterical. Sam would only be able to talk "baby babble" around his "mom" then go into regular speech with Al. I could just see it...

*Sam in the crib is talking to Al as the baby's mother walks past the doorway*
Sam: Al, look at me! I'm a baby!
A': *laughing* And a pretty cute one, at that.
Sam: Come on Al, just--ba ba, goo goo *baby squeal*--just tell me what I have to do so I can eat solid food again!

So much fun stuff could have been done with a ep like that!

Just a thought. Do you guys know how they have a tendency lately to come out with a movie and the book version of the movie at the same time recently.

What if, just what if, if this rumor is true, it is supposed to be a book version of a QL Movie?????????????

Wouldn't that be awsome.

Well you know our tendencies to run with any sort of rumors pertaining to QL, especially the movie. But I have noticed that coincidence, and that would be awesome if it was a book of the movie. We should be cautious tho, we don't even know if Deb really is writing a book.
