Jill from the Sassies posted the following link:

www.post-gazette.com/tv/2...1116p2.asp

It is an article from November 16, 2003. It's a summary of quotes from Don Bellisario from a July 2003 press conference. Most of it is about NCIS, but scroll down to the last long paragraph, and you will find...

Bellisario praises the work of his team and expresses approval of the good time they're having making the show. A good working environment on "NCIS" might make it easier to add a third series to his workload. Bellisario has had conversations with Universal Studios about reviving "Quantum Leap." He envisions a new series with a young woman leaping through time, guided once again by Dean Stockwell.

"It's an all-new show. It's more of an update, more hip, although that was pretty hip for its time," Bellisario said.

And sometimes, with shows like "JAG" and "NCIS," it's hip to be square, too.

This is the first *real* info about the new QL to come out of the *real* source's mouth.

As far as we know, Dean isn't actually doing much besides guesting on JAG (which has only been once this season so far). I betcha Dean and Don have been talking about the new QL ever since it was first announced. Deborah Pratt confirmed that the IMDb entry for QL:BLF was set up by the co-producer, Trey Callaway. So... the summary on there must really be a real summary. The quote in this article from Don seems to confirm the part of Al helping a female Leaper.

I wonder if Don got to talk with Dean and Scott together sometime? I believe Enterprise and JAG are both shot near each other. The guys could have easily gotten together one day for lunch and decided that Scott could cameo in the new QL and Dean could co-star. Dean *has* been looking to do another weekly series. And if all he's truly doing is JAG at the moment... that's not much to be doing... meaning he's not really committed to anything right now.

I think Brian had a good idea--perhaps Sci-Fi will decide to release an official announcement of QL: A Bold Leap Forward during the Leap Day marathon. If that isn't perfect timing, I don't know what would be.

Excellent find Joy. How do you find these? I search every night, yet you're the one who finds it all!

Great to see that Dean Stockwell has been officially (unofficially) been confirmed as reviving the role of Al Calavicci. Something which I predicted over at Quantum Leaping.

We can only hope that Scott was make a series of cameo roles as Sam Beckett, seeing as Star Trek: Enterprise is filmed closely by. On that, I hear that the next series of STE is unconfirmed. Apparently, this season is the make-or-break season of this spin-off.

Leap On!

Re: DPB

This is the greatest news! I have been waiting for this since SCI-FI 's first annoucement. Even though in general I believed the reports that Don was involved I still had some doubts given that we had heard nothing from him personally. Oh, Boy!!! I am now relieved. In order for this to be really Quantum Leap he needed to be involved.

Re: DPB

My goodness, this is great news! Thanks for sharing it with us, Joy. It's sure to reinforce our belief of the new QL and give us something to be excited about at next week's Al's Place QL chat.

... Mike. ^_^

P.S.: New members: Welcome aboard! I hope we'll be seeing you on Sunday, January 25 at the first Al's Place QL chat of 2004.

She found it because she's a member of the Sassies Yahoo Group! LOL! (hey, you're a member too, aren't you?). I found this interview on the Web purely by chance. Once a month (sometimes more) I start browsing the Web looking for anything pertaining to Dean Stockwell. It's often a strange trip because Dean has many interests, many friends, and many different types of fans over the years. A lot depends on what Keywords I type alongside "Dean Stockwell" when searching. It's a crap shoot, I'm tellin' ya.

The interview pertaining to NCIS came up when I typed in "Dean Stockwell" "JAG" while doing a google search.

Re: DPB

It's great news that's for sure, but I'm still leery. I can't help it. I guess that I'm expecting a lot to be out of this show and I don't want to be let down. Go figure.

Sorry... don't mean to be a bum on the news and it's greeatness...

I do think that it's a good thing... and I can't wait to actually see what happens with it.
