Rodette Vision

Yes, as amazingly as it is, I am back! *Yippee!* (Ohhhh… boy!)

Too much excitement still hurts… but I do want you guys and gals to know that I am okay. I’m more than still sore and still out there sometimes when it comes to being around the computer, but I am around. *grin*

From one Quantum Leap-aholic to another, I now know exactly how Sam might feel if he had a horrible leap in. *Sigh* I’m just one of those people (luckily) that must be unbreakable (sorta).

I read on Al’s Place about how our Rod had an accident with his car on the same day that I had mine. I’m just glad that the Rod didn’t have such a problem as I had. I don’t want anyone to have the same problem. I’ve been told that they were surprised that I made it through with as little damage as I had done. I’ve been told that I’m lucky; that I’ve got Angels watching out for me and I’ve also been told that someone really wanted me around. All I can say is that I don’t know about the luck – but I do like the Angels idea; and if someone really wanted me around, I’m more than glad to know that someone did!

If you’ve already read something close to this… please bear with… but I just want everyone to know what happened.

First and foremost, I am sore and tired, but I will survive. Thank God! Sores and pains will go away eventually, but I'm more scared with the pain that doesn't want to seem to move - not that I haven't already (I mean pain is everywhere and slowly it's going away). *Shouts... whimpers... but is glad for joy!*

Let me explain in my own words what happened - Let me explain a few things first...

1) women on wet roads

This should explain enough... and don't all the women say uhmph at me just yet.  Let me explain.  Ok?  Boys growing up from the ages of 11 - 17 can say with some certainty that they can travel on any terrain.  It's true.  At least here in Texas it is.  Again, let me explain... Boys from this age can come in on a car or 4-wheeled truck and can go into all kinds of terrains.  Matt was well air-born by the time he was 12.  Most boys can go ahead and like go fast and swish-tail ends with the car/truck as much as they can - do most of the Dukes of Hazzard effects that some of us "wowed" at and awed and us girls - the ones that just drive to get somewhere... well... we don't have that knowledge of how to do that type of thing and wham... it doesn't work.

2) women on wet roads who try to hard to do what they were told and end up in a spin that makes the Tilt-A-Whirl look bad then run into something.

This is the part where other people retell me what happened because from here... I have no idea what happened:

I don't know if anyone was in seatbelts (#1 - bad thing and first and foremost on our list to do now-a-days) and when we (Michael, Mason and I) wrapped around a tree - yes a tree. From what Matt and others told me was that the car looked like a taco wrapped around the tree.  Michael - my youngest went out the car, climbed back through the window that he went out (poor thing) and then began to try to wake his momma up by beating me on the head with his little lunch box. (It's a good thing that I was already out cold.)

I was care-flighted to Scott & White Hospital and the boys were transferred by vehicle.  I hit the tree approximately around 7:15 AM, I'm guessing and Matt didn't hear about it until 10:00.  When he was told, he handed (if you call shaking handing) the order to his partner and headed out the door to come to Temple.  He rushed home only to have our friend and police officer, Rick already talking with Terry ( a mutual friend)... who in turn took him to Temple. By the time that Matt was on his way, S&W (the hospital) called him again at work.  It was the Chaplin.  He thought that it was to tell him that I was gone and got up the nerve to call him and find out what was going on.

When they talked again, the Chaplin told him that I had woken up while they were examining me and I had said a few words.  They almost had to star-flight another chopper out for him.  They could have waited.  Anyway... the kids came out with a few scrapes and cuts and a few stitches - amazing.

I on the other had did not.

I came out with staples in my head, a puncture through my lower lip; stitches in my right hand and arm, two broken ribs and a cracked vertebrate in my back.  I'm going to be okay.  Everything is mended well and I'm sore... but slowly the soreness is going away.

I will be okay. I’m just waiting for the pain to go away… and it is slowly leaving. Thank God.

Buckling Up And Be Having….

As for me, I’m one of those who are now very much advocates for the seatbelt. It takes something drastic to happen to call your attention to it. For those of you who have decided not to wear one – please do so and buckle up. We need everyone… and not one less. OK?

The Virtual Seasons…

I just want to take this time to say a big thank you to Brian Greene for helping me with the site and keeping it going for me while I’m away. It shouldn’t be too much longer before I’m able to be up for long periods and take it back from him. He’s way too kind and I don’t think that he realizes how much I do appreciate him doing what he’s done.

A special thank you to you! *HUGS*

With love to you all…

Reaching for that unreachable star,
MJ
