The entirety of Quantum Leap, from 1989 to present, has been taken off of Peacock. Anyone have a clue why?

I saw rumors of this on a Facebook group a few weeks ago. As I mentioned in another part of this forum I found a US seller of a bootleg of Season 2 of the revival on Blu Ray. Just finished watching the last episode last night.
Why? Probably money. The problem with streaming from its very early inception is studios are cutting off outside revenue. In the past if a show was sold to syndication they got money from that. Every time the Star Trek movies disappear from Paramount Plus fans wonder why. It’s because they make money by distributing those movies to other streamers owned by other studios.
It’s the same problem with movies made for streaming. It cuts off profits from theaters.
Hopefully existing episodes start showing up elsewhere now. Always support physical media. But many people are starting to say with the way shows are disappearing bootlegging is the only way some shows can be preserved.
I was fully supportive of the two strikes last year. But some of this seems to be the studios avoiding pay the creators. No stream no pay.
I have never done this before but check the Mercai app for bootlegs of season 2 . If we get an official Blu Ray I will buy it again to support the show and cast and crew

I thought I saw where Amazon is taking pre-orders for the DVD/Blu-ray release of season two. That might explain it somewhat for the remake but no idea why the original would be taken down as well.
Yes, I discovered that Amazon DVD listing. It’s an Australian company. But shipping through Amazon.com. Curious situation.
I think original removal from Peacock is for Universal to sell it to outside company to stream. Not pretending to be an expert but it’s been a new pattern across most streaming. These studios used their libraries of old movies and tv shows to help launch their streaming services. But they over spent on original content. Now trying to regain profits in selling to other distributors.
The whole business model of streaming is being reaccessed by the studios and the big corporations who are the owners. Where all this leads is hard to say.

On the topic of Peacock removing shows. They have a count down of 25 days for the 1st season of new Night Court. Than it will be gone. They already only have 4 episodes of the 2nd season remaining. I only re subscribed to Peacock for the 3rd season which started this week. It’s obvious what is going on NBC/Peacock/ Universal do not own Night Court and never have. It’s always been a Warner Bros owned and produced show. It’s the reason the original series is no where to be found on Peacock. They are paying WB to have the new show on Peacock. They advertise Peacock as a way to watch their new shows the next day but no promise how long that lasts.
The first season of Night Court revival got a DVD release from Warner Bros. Both the first and 2nd are available to buy on Amazon as seasons or individually.
