I hope its ok. Season two is the only one I do not own in the Universal release. So its from my bootleg thats why the quality is not so great. Its ok if you would rather have someone do it from the universal version for better quality.

appreciated

Thanks for the screen cap. If I could get a better quality, it would be better for the purpose I have (e.g. used for TVS picture.)

Thanks again

And I appreciate your doing it. The TVS requires that character pictures be available for a story. I want to use Ruth Briatt as one of the characters in a story later this season. She doesn't have a picture at IMDB. Thus the need for a screen cap. I just want the picture to be representative of her. She's a beautiful lady.

I know you do, and I was glad to help. and yes she is very beautiful. Is she in it as herself, or is it like an All Americans Sequal? care to share just s summory, you know as if I am reading the back of one of the novels.

It's a The Virtual Seasons Episode

This is for a story that is scheduled to air in The Virtual Seasons on 4/6/2007, #1324 entitled Full and Open. When the story is about to be posted, there will be a summary blurb put up. Suffice to say, I need a hispanic woman for the storyline and I'm using Ruth Briatt to represent that woman. Hence the need for a good picture.

She's not in it as herself nor is this a sequel to All Americans.

The story is already written and submitted. I've got pictures of all the other characters for the story already. I just need hers.

Tvs

It's something that TVS started not long ago. When you write a story, you have to "cast" it. I personally don't prefer to do that, but it's a part of the process and hence...I write...I follow the process.

To me, the characters as I have them in my mind are so much more real to me. I know that some people like to think of an actor and then write the story. For me, it's always hard to find the right person. Even seening Sam and Al...although the actors who portrayed them are how the characters look in my mind's eye...the characters themselves are so much deeper then that.

The moment I get home, I'll pop in the DVD and do a capture. I'm at work, currently. Will that do? I can do high res if that's what you need.

Type of picture

I just need a nice picture of the woman. If you go to the latest episode of TVS (kidnapped), you'll see the pictures of people and who they are playing. I'm just casting the actress as the character I wrote. So I need a picture to put up. She doesn't have a picture up at IMDB so I need one and this episode is the only place I know of to get it.

I appreciate your help! I've got the disks...but don't know how to do screencaps!

You can download a trial version of Cyberlink Power DVD at http://www.cyberlink.com/multi/download/trials_1_ENU.html. When the DVD is playing just hit the "c" key whenever you want to cap. That's what I've been using to do all my capping and it works like a dream (provided the dreams not a nightmare :lol ).

Just to clarify things with The Virtual Seasons...

One of the authors thought that it might be a good idea to "cast" the characters for the episode that was airing at the time. I thought that this was an excellent idea since we were trying to be similar to the original -- keeping to canon set by Donald Bellisario and to be more like a television show that it once was. I had even thought of putting in "commercials" into the stories, but have nixed that idea since it was going to be too much confusion and headache to put it together.

The whole "casting" of the episodes that are up this year was only to keep to the unity and conformity of the season. However, if a writer does not want to do this, they do not have to do this. It was just a way of keeping the 13th season a bit different than the previous years.

It is not a prerequisite, nor are the pictures required for your story to be on TVS. Please don't think that. It is not. :)

If you are a writer for TVS and you think that you don't want to do this, then please e-mail me off the messageboard and let me know.

Thanks for your attention to this matter.

Since we're discussing screencaps, do you mind if I make a request? I'm not sure if it's possible, but there is something I'm looking for. I've been in a bit of a holiday mood, and I'd love to have Christmas QL pics. I know there's a commercial in the media library of Sam in a Santa suit talking to Al in front of a Christmas tree. Is there anyone way I can get some caps of that commercial? I know they'll probably be blurry, but I'd like to try to have them.

I'd appreciate it! And there's nothing wrong with a little pretention now and then... just as long as we don't have to call you "Your Majesty." :)

So long as you can refrain from referring to yourself in the royal we I think it's all good. ;-)

Mua ha ha ha! Bow down to me and show homage to the Queen of ScreenCaps! I have the power over the screen caps you hold in high esteem!

Ah - k - I'm done now.

And yay! Screeshots!

I took some caps of the Xmas commercial thing and yeah, it was really blurry. You can't really make them out, but I've got those too if you still want them.

Ooh, nice wallpapers! I'll have to use them on my desktop; they'll definately help with the Christmas cheer.

And I would still like to see the commercial screencaps, even though they are blurry. It's so sad that most of this QL stuff exists only on old, well-used VHS tapes; I would love an official DVD devoted to cool (and clear!) QL extras!

Could someone (The Queen of ScreenCaps perhaps? :lol) please screen cap a scene from Another Mother? I'm looking for a pic of the little five year old, whose name I totally blanked on, but played by Troian Bellisario. She was sooooooo cute!

I have screencaps from the episode Another Mother up at my website at http://swisscheese.sbscreencaps.com/another_mother.htm. I've got caps available from all of Seasons 1 and 2 and some of the episodes from Seasons 3 and 4. There's also caps on the site (http://www.sbscreencaps.com) from nearly every other TV series/movie that Scott has done on the site. If I could get a dime for every cap on the site...well, I wouldn't be rich but I could probably do my Christmas shopping. :)

These specific caps feature Troian Bellisario as Theresa:

I have them uploaded at a lower resolution to save on space but if you need them (or any others) at a higher resolution, let me know and I can forward them to you.

Man is Troian cute or what? I'd love to tickle her to death and hear her giggle. I miss working with kids. Good thing I'll be giving kids their prescriptions and make them laugh with the way the amoxicillin might taste.

I'm at work today, and between calls, I've been trying to make my own screen caps to turn into avatars. I've done it before, using YouTube. I hit pause on the frame I want, hit Print Screen, and then I open Paint. Then I crop out just the image I want, dump the rest, and resize as needed. I've tried doing that with the DVD, using Windows Media Player. I hit pause where I want it, hit Print Screen, open Paint, and attempt to crop and resize. It won't let me crop the extranious frames and window bits out. I even saved some semblance of what I wanted, and then went back and played the DVD some more. When I went back and opened the picture I had saved, it was showing where I had left off on the DVD the last time, not what I had saved! It did this in RealPlayer, too. Is this some sort of feature that disallows screen caps? I'd use the program shown above, but as this is a work computer, I'm not allowed to download anything. I do not have a (working) computer at home. Any tips? Thank you in advance.

Because of the format of the DVD's you can't use the method of pausing it and doing a print screen to get a screencap. I don't really remember the technical reason, just know you can't. That's why I ended up going with PowerDVD to do screencaps. You'll need a program like that in order to do it from the DVD's. I believe there's also a series of keystrokes you can use from MediaPlayer but can't remember them.

I searched the Help menu of Media Player, and found instructions on how to do an image capture, but when I followed them, that option was not there.

I have not found that option on Interactual player, Power DVD, or RealPlayer. I suppose I'll have to call my brother and ask permission to borrow his computer to download the trial software, and then remove it when I'm finished, unless someone else has another suggestion.
