Season One now on Bluray and DVD!

I'm hoping for both seasons together. And I'm hoping s2 on physical media isn't a pipe dream.

Although I've seen several box set reissues and issues lately. As people are cancelling streaming services several of them are realizing there's money in DVD/BluRay. (Ex, I might have to get Cobra Kai one day. They did previous seasons so I'm hoping once the final one is done a box set is coming.)

I agree. Predictions of the death of physical media are premature. Apparently Vinyl surpassed CD sales again. There was a point when no one would ever expected that.

The truth is it was very shortsighted of the networks and the Hollywood studios to gamble their whole future on one profit and distribution source - streaming . Which has shown to have a lots of flaws as long term sole business model.

There are a lot of successful small boutique specialty DVD and Blu Ray companies licensing the big studios movies and tv shows. Targeted to a specific audience. Also the studios themselves are releasing things to Blu Ray I thought I would never see.

With all it’s well known problems Warner Bros just announced the complete run of Super Friends on Blu Ray.

I think it’s worth remembering how much the two strikes put everything on hold and delayed. Everything was in a holding pattern. It’s possible a season 2 release could be announced at anytime. I suspect without the strikes season 1 would have been released later than it was last year. Often previous seasons are released on physical media in late summer or fall to cross promote when new episodes start.

I guess no news about season two on Blu Ray/DVD. Even the bootleg stuff from China is no longer on eBay.
Someone is selling the bootlegs again. Has anyone actually bought these? The seller has no reviews on previous sales of anything. Highly skeptical. Never bought bootleg DVDs or Blu-rays. Many years ago I did buy VHS of a few tv shows never available anywhere. There it was obvious that quality was recorded of tv and copies made.

I would definitely be highly skeptical of sellers with no ratings/history. Fingers crossed for a release in a few months. TV shows tend to be part of Black Friday deals/releases and sure would be nice for this to be included!

I agree. I would be better of buying the season on Amazon to stream. Anyone know that quality compared to Peacock?

Only reason I will subscribe to Peacock again is for Night Court new season. I am pissed at NBC. But I do like that show. It’s not back until November. I have been patiently waiting for a Blu Ray announcement this whole time...

I was unhappy with cancellation but too busy to really think about it. Lately I have become really nostalgic. Really incredible what we got in 31 episodes. Sad it’s done but now we really can look back and what it accomplished. Instead of things we wished had been, with new behind the scenes insights, was not going to happen.

The whole run I felt, like this was a spin off/sequel. Pushing premise to places and ideas season 5 and potential 6 of original could have done. That it ended (prematurely) with Addison the observer joining Ben in leaping is just like the alternate ending with Al leaping to find Sam. It’s so poetic. Both ending rhyme.

Sure Al died but based on what we saw in Mirror Image with Stawpah... I would like to think Sam and Al are outing there together still putting right that once went wrong.

Interesting! It says it's an Import, so that's intriguing. Could be legit or could be bootleg, hard to say without official chatter. I wish they would put it forth.

Thanks for noticing that. I found that companies website. Here are all Quantum Leap listings. Shop | Via Vision

Timing of this is interesting . Yesterday I caved in an ordered Chinese bootleg on EBay. Than discovered this today. Now that EBay listing is gone and I asked for cancellation and refund.

So I wonder if it's region-coded as that's an Australian site. It says it's NTSC which is a plus as it's not PAL, but that region coding...

I know CDs work with no issues because back in the day I bought the Australian Oklahoma! and Beauty and the Beast soundtracks (Hugh Jackman, what can I say), but I'd be hesitant on the DVDs.

I am currently watching season 2 on Blu Ray…

After I canceled that EBay order from China I realized I should check Mercari. Over the last year I have sold a lot of old books and collectibles I do not want anymore. I found a United States seller with much shorter mail time. Seemed worth the risk. Glad I did. Seems close to quality as Peacock , maybe exactly the same. All on one disc.

I first checked last episode. Music themes from original series are easier to hear then Peacock. Also … I make no apologies for checking out Caitlin Bassett in a Fermi suit in freeze frame…

Watching first episode now. I will probably buy official Blu Rays if they happen to support the show. But I own it now. When it sounds like it will be removed from Peacock soon. Streaming has been a temporary thing but sold as permanent. Or at that is the illusion we all wanted to believe. Just today it was revealed Disney Plus is removing first 4 Indiana Jones movies. Just as they are promoting a new John Williams documentary that will heavily feature all those movies. Makes no sense.

EDIT no chapter stops for the episode. But individual episodes can be selected on a menu. Really surprised there is closed Captions in English which can be turned off and on. Not all official releases have that. Hannah calling Ben “ future boy” is in lower case. But the writer confirmed that was indeed a reference to Captain Galaxy’s sidekick.

Out of curiosity I thought I would check Amazon. That Australian DVD set I shared is now up for preorder. It says it’s shipping directly from Amazon.com. I do not follow Amazon listings that closely but that is odd to carry a foreign release of American show. I think… 😕

Shows Universal is really a sleep on interest here. When some other overseas company seems to be doing it first.

I am happy with purchase. Question is do I watch whole series from beginning this week or just season 2. Very impressed with overall product. Something amused me though. The online listing had cover art as perfect clear custom used official poster art for season. When I opened mail more concerned with actual disc content. Which is great. Then later looking at cover - same art put paper insert printed on low grade printer. Where you can see faded lines. Not horrible but I actually laughed to myself!

That import release of season 2 was supposed to come out on November 29th. Out of curiosity I checked out Amazon and it’s no longer offered directly from them but only 3rd parties...

Sigh... not really surprising. It seemed very fishy that Amazon was offering Australian release. Curious if anyone ever gets a copy in the United States. Hopefully it means at some point Universal will do a proper release. Makes me even more happy I got a bootleg Blu Ray of season 2.

I reluctantly signed up for Peacock again to watch new season of Night Court. I have no cable or tv antenna. Only option. They have season 1 and 2 episodes on countdown to removal. This is a show that was renewed! NBC does not own that show completely. It’s produced by Warner Bros. They are paying to even have episodes on Peacock.

I have been heartened to see the return and expansion of physical media at retailers so I continue to hold out hope.

In the meantime would you mind letting me know where you found the "homemade" one?

Absolutely happy to direct you to right place. Do you know of the buying and selling app Mercari? That is where I bought. It’s similar to EBay but much simpler. I started as a seller. Sold a lot of my old toys and books. Now I am buying on there a lot.

I will look up name of seller and check if they are offering it again….

They are! Fan Flicks Galore. It’s important to know and they say this in description - homemade Blu Rays do not always play in all Blu Ray players. A few years ago I bought a Captain America serial from the 1940s from different seller. So I knew my player would work. I would do research on whatever player you have before buying anything
