Need some research help

Okay. I'm writing a new VS story based on a real event in my life. It's about a teacher of mine that was forced to resign last year.

What I need to know is information about tenure status and stuff like that. I want to make sure I get my info straight, as my teacher was never able to fully explain things to us in detail for certain reasons.

Any help would be appreciated!
